Tuesday-Seize The Day !

Tuesday is the day associated with the planet Mars. Mars was the Roman god of war.  Tuesday is the Norse, Anglo-Sazon and Germanic version which they attributed to their god of battles and courage Tiw, Tyr or Tiu. After the Roman invasion and introduction of their gods, Mars being one, the germanic people eventually switched or substituted their older deities names for the Roman names. Thus the latin Dies Martis ( mars day) changed to  the old English Tiwesdaeg.
The Norse god Tiw was known for his sense of justice, discipline and integrity. The planetary influence of mars brings with it the aggresion, bravery and honor of soldiers as well as the passion and steength to fight for what you believe in.
Mars may have been originally a god of the fields and vegetation ; over time he became linked with Ares the Greek god of war.
Mars symbols include a shield or spear.
Flowers and Plants: Holly, Snapdragon, Thistle
Metal: Iron
Colors: Red, Black, Scarlet, Orange
Crystals and Stones: Bloodstone, Garnet, Ruby, Red Jasper
Essential Oils : Basil, Ginger, Pennyroyal, Pine
Foods, Herbs and Spices: Allspice, Peppers, Carrots, Garlic and Ginger

Their are more herbs listed in Scott Cunninham's Book , Magical Herbalism.
A lot of the above information comes from E. Dugan's book, Book of Witchery.
One truth that has come home to me is that one book doesn't contain all the information one needs.  The knowledge you seek is out there you must keep searching and it will come. Also I have found that what one finds listed in herbal recipes, potions  and philters can't always be obtained when one needs it either due to seasonal , regional or availability.
Therefore I read and adapt.
